Physical Therapist Assistant

Physical therapy was a career field that interested 丽贝卡·贝尔 for several years, but since her husband is in the military, she had to wait until he was stationed close to a college that offered a physical therapist assistant (PTA) program.

In 2020, her wishes came true when they moved to Delaware. Bell immediately enrolled at Delaware Tech as a PTA major.

"I got my first bachelor's degree in 2007 in physical education," Bell said. "As years passed and different jobs were presented to me, I realized I had a passion for helping people move well to improve their daily function and strength.

"It became apparent to me that the thing that really appealed to me was helping people do things they didn't think were possible."

Bell and her family are permanently stationed in Delaware, but she has had to balance being a mother of three while her husband has often been deployed. She has overcome this challenge by believing in herself, planning and sticking to that plan, and achieving each goal she has set.

"The instructors here have a vast amount of knowledge," Bell said. "They are masters of their craft and highly intelligent in the field. It is so valuable to be taught by them."

Once she graduates, Bell said athlete rehabilitation is one area that interests her. She said athletes have another level of work ethic and ability and she would love the opportunity to work with them.
